Laptops, chargers, cell phones, and of course passion are helpful. Other useful items include: toiletries, a change of clothes, a pillow, some earplugs, an eye mask, a jacket, and...deodorant.
Knives, firearms, and other dangerous things are not permitted at the event.
All creators 18 years of age and older are welcome! This includes high schoolers, undergraduate students, graduate students, and professionals! Please note that the age limit is strictly enforced.
We'll have a scheduled time where you can form teams after the opening ceremony. In addition, on Thursday, Feb. 23rd, we will have a pre-hackathon event where you can meet prospective team members, mentors, and partners.
Teams are composed of 2-5 people. You can do it alone, but it'll be less fun!
BUILDATHON is 100% free. We want you to feel welcomed and provide everything you need for an amazing weekend!
We will not provide travel reimbursements due to the size of the event. But we will provide buses to and from the hackathon to most universities in DFW!
A hackathon is an experience to build something new within a set amount of time. Therefore, you cannot work on past projects. However, using your own open-source or third party libraries is fine, so long as the project is new.
We will have a variety of hardware available for use. BUILDATHON will have limited access to Freeman fabrication operators and industrial-scale metalworking/woodworking equipment, 3D printers and a design area for fabrication. We will also have VR headsets, RFID/Beacon tech, IoT devices and much more!
Yes! You can ride the bus if you select it in your RSVP. We have the following buses this time:
We'd love to hear from you! We are a friendly bunch and open to discussing new ideas, improvements or email@example.com
